Arohan Sydney is a registered not-for-profit cultural organisation, born from the shared dream of a few Bengali families in Sydney who wished to keep their traditions alive while building a vibrant, inclusive community far from home.

Founded in 2021, Arohan has grown into a trusted platform that celebrates the richness of Bengali culture — not only through grand festivals like Durga Puja but also through events that foster connection, creativity, and compassion.

Our Story

What began as heartfelt conversations between families has blossomed into a dynamic organisation. In 2022, Arohan Sydney hosted its first-ever Durga Puja — a landmark event filled with devotion, colour, and community warmth.

From that moment on, we’ve continued to grow — welcoming more members, volunteers, artists, and supporters into the Arohan family.

What We Do

Arohan organises several events throughout the year including:

• Durga Puja – Our flagship annual celebration since 2022
• Saraswati Puja – Honouring knowledge, music, and creativity
• Sharodiya Mela – A celebration of art, food, fashion, and joy
• Blood Donation Drive (2024) – In collaboration with Red Cross
• Arohan United Football Match (2024) – A community bonding day
• Annual Picnic – A fun-filled outdoor family event
• Bijoya Sammelan – Cultural performances and post-puja celebration
